Help MAFG raise funds for people impacted by the crisis in Ukraine
What are we fundraising for?
With the military invasion in Ukraine continuing to escalate, millions of people are facing a humanitarian crisis and are in urgent need of support.
We are raising money on behalf of the Australian Red Cross to support communities impacted by this devastating violence and the neighbouring countries providing safety for displaced people.
What has this got to do with us?
MA's lending business works closely with a team in the Ukraine who have experienced first-hand the devastation this war has bought. These people have been displaced from their cities, lost their homes and been separated from their loved ones.
Whilst our team is safe and have the full support of MA behind them, we wanted to extend our support to this cause by undertaking a broader fundraising initiative across the MA business to increase the support provided to those who need it most in the wider Ukrainian community.
How much are we aiming to raise?
We have set an initial fundraising target of A$10,000 to be donated to Australian Red Cross in support of this cause. The MA Foundation will also make a contribution.
Where will our money go?
Proceeds raised, alongside donations from the MA foundation, will be donated to Australian Red Cross who are on the ground in Ukraine providing emergency relief to families, as well as longer-term humanitarian support to people and communities affected by this unfolding crisis. This may include:
- Humanitarian activities to enable Red Cross and Red Crescent partners to address immediate and longer terms needs in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, including to people who are displaced. This includes emergency relief assistance such as shelter, health, water and sanitation.
- Specialist aid workers to assist local teams to respond to the crisis
- Helping people restore contact with family members separated by the crisis by offering services to maintain family links and locate missing family members
- Monitoring and evaluation of the support
