Let?s help people get back on their feet after a disaster

Telstra Purple are proud to support the Australian Red Cross as they coordinate relief for one of the most significant crises in Australian history.

Right now, over 1100 specifically-trained Red Cross emergency response staff and volunteers are supporting over 13,500 people in more than 70 evacuation centres around the country. The Red Cross is also providing emergency grants to anyone who has lost their homes as a result of the fires. Right now, that number is in the hundreds, with more likely to follow as fires continue to spread. ?

The Red Cross is also providing crucial psychological first aid to those affected by fires in disaster centres; providing field volunteers to help alongside emergency services, and helping communities in the path of fires to adequately prepare for the oncoming front.

Our donations will help ensure that the Red Cross can continue its work during the fire crisis and develop long-term recovery plans to rehabilitate affected communities. Right now, the Red Cross anticipates these plans will need to run for a minimum of two years.
