Woolworths Group has partnered with Australian Red Cross on the Global COVID-19 Appeal to support the millions of people in India and across the Asia Pacific region who have been devastated by the pandemic.

Woolworths Group has a diverse workforce and many team members with Indian heritage have friends and family currently dealing with some distressing circumstances. The situation in India is dire, with over 400,000 new COVID-19 cases being reported daily. There is a critical shortage of oxygen and the country’s healthcare system is at breaking point.

The rapid rise in COVID-19 cases is also impacting our team members in Bangladesh and Thailand, where the respective countries are in lockdown.

COVID-19 is spreading rapidly and Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Pakistan, Nepal, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea are also experiencing a rapid surge of coronavirus cases.
